Drama, storytelling, enactments, Play, and improvisation session

This session is a combined experience of Arabic culture and the magic tool of drama and theatre.

Conducted Arabic, we will revisit the backyards of the Levant region and enjoy its folk tales and stories, while learning new words in Arabic in a safe and contained space. The session will introduce the kids to basic tools of theatre and drama (speech, role embodiment movement and improvisation) and connect participants with their Arabic heritage and language.

Everyone is welcome – all abilities, ages, and nationalities all can enjoy and take part in our theatrical adventure. 

Join us to explore our rich Arabic language and heritage through Drama and Play.

Time:

Session 1(for the age 4-5 years old): 10:30 AM-11:30AM 

Session 2 (for the age 6-10 years old): 12:30PM-1:30 PM 

The session will be facilitated by Elias Matar –

Elias Matar is a Palestinian play specialist, drama and movement therapist, workshop facilitator, performer storyteller and and founder of the El Bayet Centre for Performing Arts & Drama Therapy.

Elias holds an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Elias manages the Youth Programme at  ECPAT UK a children’s rights charity that supports children and young people victims  of trafficking.
